I've been on the receiving end of this, but have never been denied a space. Most generally when I tell them it is a Prevost they say it is okay, but I have also had to tell them you can't really tell a '92 from a '99, so that would work for a few more years.

I can certainly side with park owners on this one as I have stayed at parks that got hung with some group showing up in a beater POS RV with a bunch of folks crammed in it looking to park cheap and hang out at the pool all weekend. It turns into a loud, obnoxious, free-for-all party that drives everyone crazy. I tend to stay away from parks like this, not because I feel like being a snob, but because if I were into this, I could go to about any public lake in Oklahoma or Texas that has camping spots and live thru the same hell.

And then some towns have laws that cause the RV park owners to deny older coaches. I have also run into this, but have always found a way around it. It's kinda like the security at the airport; I don't like the hassle, but the alternative is scary.

10 to 1 Sandy was talking to an hourly employee.

The campground owner usually sees the bigger picture, especially when you mention Prevost.

Trukman has a set of magnetic year numbers on the side of his plasticcraft so he's always accepted.

Sounds like a description of the annual 4th of July hanger party at JDUB's.

So, the Plastic Trukster POS is accepted with open arms at the campground and a 17 year old Prevost is not! I would bet money most campgrounds couldn't tell Dales pristine late 80's bus from a 2000.

Besides, the place in PC was probably visited by Jdub and Mango in their previous 10+ year old buses and have not fully recovered. Once they saw the feeding frenzy and the chicken jerking, they had to make a new rule.

Sandy, tell them yours is a 2000 and then tell them to stick it!

Everyone tends to look at RV Parks with the same Prism. However, they can be quite different and have very different capitol investments and buisness plans. You can not compare a Luxury RV resort to a small Mom and Pop RV Park on the side of the freeway. They all have different requirements, some not so obvious. There is some which do not accept children, others who do not accept Pets. Fortunately there are plenty to choose from.

I came across a new rv park that is opening this year that looks like it would be perfect for a POG Rally
Is it going to open this year? Their website says opening spring 2006, which to me looks like they are 18 months behind schedule. Virtual tour shows they got a lot of work ahead of them?

Mike, I did talk to the employee and the statement was, she had asked the manager 2 times and still a picture needed to be sent. Final analysis: We stayed right next door at the Venture Out Resort (recommended by the employee of PCB Resort in a quite voice). And by the way, I always am courteous to people when talking to them and not snobby. That is what makes this world go around! Only one oops--letting my mouth open and making a bad comment while men are trying to explain how to install a windshield. I'll never forget that. Sandy

We have run into the 10 year rule several times. It has never been a big deal. I ask the campground manager if they are willing to inspect the bus when I arrive with the understanding that I am happy to leave if they decide it doesn't meet their standards. They always have agreed and we have never been turned away. I don't have a problem with this policy. It is the owner's right to put whatever restrictions on their investment that they deem appropriate. I truely believe it is a convenient way for the owner to turn away undesirable rigs. Kind of like a "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone", but in a more politically correct manner.

Ouch, that hurts. Score one for MM in the giant Beagle smackdown.
