I understand that 1997 and forward Prevost put in Independent front suspension. How is the ride different than an older('92-'96) coach? Is it significant enough to be a "must have"?

Wayne,
I've had a 93 and two different 98 chassis, and I haven't I noticed a significant difference in the driving/handling. I know others have said the same thing, but there may be some who feel differently. There are fewer components to worry about going bad on the straight axle. I personally wouldn't let that be a deal breaker either way.

Wayne,
IFS was introduced primarily for greater weight carrying capacity.

Ditto above. They can turn tighter.
For comparison less than 1 in 1000 other heavy vehicles ( like big trucks) have air ride front suspension. Of that less than 1 in 1000 that have air ride steer axle ZERO ZIP NADA have IFS on air. Prevost with air ride IFS is a lone wolf in this aspect. I am unaware of any other vehicle carrying 15000lb on air with IFS.
Joe,
So is that a good or bad in your opinion? Wayne
For one I would think it might help in a front blow out situation ? But that's a guess,,,,,,,

More complicated more costly comes along with it. So what. Good medicine can be costly sometimes.
