    Jon,

Yes something is up. But it has nothing to do with me (see Pahrump Rally). If you have ever been to a POG Rally the current silence of the Taco Twins is scary.

    Jon,

BTW when are you going to get that rig to Alaska and Hawaii?

I know it's thread creep, but in looking at the picture with Jim in it, don't you just love it when an RV park puts bolders along the edge of a turn!

Never. Not in a million years. Ain't gonna happen.

If I wasn't clear enough let me know I will attempt to express it more forcefully.

    Jon & Skiff,

If there is one place in the US that you DO NOT WANT TO GO TO it is Alaska. Not that it isn't beautiful, but Jon would go into cardiac arrest the first time his Liberty got dirty. And believe me it would get really dirty. I am still get Alaskan dirt out from crevises and small openings.

I must admit though, it was worth it! That scenery was unlike anything I have ever seen before. We had a blast with Ken & Janet - memories that will never fade.

You know Ray, I can't understand why they do that either. Why not just make a large gravel pitt where the area is that MHs will roll over. If the CAMPROUND OWNERS/BUILDERS would make the driveways/turns WIDER there would be no need to put a boulder on the grass.

You don't know what dirty is until you have spent a couple of weeks running around in the snow belt doing trade shows and have road salt and sand everywhere on the coach and the wheels are discolored from the chemicals they put on the roads to melt snow and ice.

Dirt can be washed off, but until it is off it doesn't do anything except look lousy.

Salt gets everywhere, including into places you cannot even see and sits there eating away at the frame, fasteners and anything metal.

The reason we ain't going is we ain't going in the winter, and in the summer we cannot afford a month away from home. We love our garden.

You should try driving there and back every year. This year we'll do it twice.

We still enjoy the drive. It's different every time.

Tuga, you are correct, but there is another reality. Our loading docks at the factory in Jamestown are in the rear of the building and set up so a driver can pull up and be almost lined up with the dock. Then all he has to do is back in. If he is at an angle the dock is still on the driver's side and not the blind side.

The area where trucks pull up prior to backing is surrounded by lawn. The drivers would pull onto the lawn. So I added gravel in a wide area. the drivers would then pull past the gravel onto the lawn. When one idiot buried his truck in the lawn (the entire tractor was past the blacktop, past the gravel and on the lawn) we ended up lining the area with solid concrete barriers. I'm sorry some drivers dent their fuel tanks and rip off their plastic bumpers and fuel tank covers. But the drivers that need a 1/4 mile to back to a loading dock are the reason. I am sure you have watched RVers that cannot drive their Buicks much less are incapable of keeping their rigs on the campground streets. They are the reason for the rocks.
