    There's a really cool toad braking system that runs off the air brakes of the bus. It only requires a hose from the rear of the coach that runs into the brake chamber of the toad.

    You step on the brakes on the coach, the air puts pressures directly into the toad brake diaphram. They are a little ticky about getting set up in the toad, I understand, but it sure beats a Brake Buddy in theory, at least.

    Anyone have any experience with same? I've already got the air line and 27 different other hookups on the back of the Vogue as it was a Harvey Mitchell coach at one point. His motto seems to be, "You can't have enough stuff on your coach."

    Anyway, it seems that about 3% of coaches actually use braking systems and in prepping for Santa Fe, I am thinking about driving legal for the first time in about 10 years.

    Especially after the events in Virginia.

    Well if you are insisting on being legal, hook up your Exploder and measure from stem to stern. If you are not overlength by a foot or so I would be surprised.

    That will mean you will require permits and a flag car as you cross the various states.

    Makes the radar dectector seem like a minor issue.

    I have followed your instructions Jon.

    To insure that I have all the right resources in place I did a search on Escort Services throughout the United States and it would appear that there is could be quite an additional dimension to owning a Prevost than earlier anticipated.

    Now I have to measure length.

    He don't need help. He already has a flag car lined up with smudge pots for the flashing lights.

    When you go from Maine to New Mexico you don't have to got through VA do you? That seems to be the only place JPJ has problems.

    OK, I admit that going to New Mexico from New England is a long distance to travel to avoid Virginia, but when your buddies are in the west, you go where you need to go.

    Next time near the Beltway, I am going to do a Mango Visit. It's time to get Mango on Prime Time and get him more involved in his business.

    We tow a Tahoe or a Wrangler. For the Tahoe we went with an M&G Brake System. It is a seemless operation. There is an air line hookup on the back of the bus and another on the front of the Tahoe near the baseplate hookup. The system that activates the brakes on the Tahoe while being towed attaches to the master cylinder. It is permanently installed. When we are ready to tow hitch up the Tahoe and connect the air line and we are good to go. It seems to do a great job. I am not back there to see it work, but the stops seem to be shorter. If I remember correctly the system cost around $900 installed. Great thing is not having to wrestle a brake box in and out. Here is a link to their website:

    Thanks for the info. Heard that the installation on the toad was tweaky, so will pay attention to that.
