I had a bad experience with the Detroit shop in London, Ontario almost a year ago. As much as I want to forget the experience, Team Centre Truck keeps reminding me. They changed the fuel filters I installed that very morning even though I told them not to. Today I went to change my engine mounted fuel filters. Easy job that should take about 30 minutes. Not today! I think I spent 3 hours replacing the fuel filters. Engine mechanics 101 teaches the importance of lubricating filter seals. Detroit goes so far as to put graphic illustrations on the filter showing exactly how to mount the filter. If a filter doesn't come of it was either put on by Hercules or the gasket wasn't lubricated. There's little room available to get stuck filter off. After moving a few hoses and getting creative with a ratchet strap the filters were removed. I'm sure glad I did this job at home.

All spin on filters require gasket lubrication before installation.
