Default Xenon HID and LED Headlights

    Folks,

I've used 90mm Xenon Headlights before and was very pleased with them, but now LEDs seem to be all the rage. Anyone here have experience with LED headlights on their Prevost: https://www.jwspeaker.com/products/b...ghts-model-90/?

On my Wanderlodge I installed these, but I'd probably go bi-xenon now: http://www.rallylights.com/hl68140-h...high-beam.html, and http://www.rallylights.com/hella-90m...-low-beam.html.

Funny you should ask. Just today I ordered the LED replacement bulb for my low beam lights to see how good or bad they work. These must really get hot. They have a micron on some of them.

JW Speakers makes good products. Had I kept my XL I had planned to adapt their 5x7" LED dual beam light.

    Hey Gil,

I'm looking forward to a report on their performance. These Dialights are also popular in the busing world:

The LEDs are supposed to be particularly well suited for low beams, with their broad, uniform light pattern absent of hotspots. The Hella Xenon HIDs I had on my Wanderlodge were too strong for the street. I had to be very courteous of oncoming drivers. At the speeds I run SpongeBob I'm sure the LED highbeams will be perfectly adequate.

Gil, I assume you are referring to the Speaker 8900. Those used to cost about $600 each, but I see them in some places for about $225 including shipping. They seem to be rated as the very best in the 5X7 headlight category and they have a lifetime warranty.

    David, thanks for the link.

Dale, that is the ones. Take look at them with the bezel. These would be a great upgrade.

I just had Mira Loma install 4 new JW speaker headlights and they look amazing. There the only DOT and TC approved light for seal beam upgrade apparently. They also have a heated model available w/ a built in temp sensor.

JW Speaker makes a really good and attractive light.

My attempt to use an LED replacement bulb on my 03 failed. The LED replacement bulb extends too far out of the rear of the light. It doesn't allow the H-3 light door to fully close.

I just drove from Mira Loma to las vegas for 4 hrs at night and I can say that I have never seen a headlight work so well. Worth every penny!
