    Default Bus Height

Just for fun and information, I measured big red's height today, it was 11'6" to the highest point. Highest point was the bracket the TV air antenna settles into when down. Cruisairs and flat top in motion dish.

Hey Mango, bet I can lose you in downtown Memphis!

At ride height, our 2000 Marathon "H"3-45 center-of-roof is 12' 5". The edge of the roof is 12'3". The Fantastic fan assembly is 5 inches tall. The bathroom potty vent is also 5 inches and so is the microwave exhaust stack. Our DataStorm Internet dish (now de-commissioned)(scheduled for removal when Denver warms up) is 10 inches tall folded down. We are a total of 13'3" inches tall at the highesr point. (DataStorm)

    Wild Willie,

I was off a tad, big red had sag of the bags. It's right at 11' 9", I'll use 12' and be good.

Thanks Bus, I think this helps people when they're considering a bus to keep garage considerations in check.

interesting....... i have a small light/sign on the dash that sez 12' 7", and i think thats before dome, vents, etc. i'll try to measure it later on, hopefully before you arrive.

i'd be interested in the info on your eng battery trickle charger if you have a minute to scribble it down.

    cheers,
    wmm

    bill and jody,

We don't have an "Echo Charger" or trickle charger for our coach's chassis batteries. Marathon doesn't routinely install them. Our first coach, (CC XL 2 slide) had an Echo Charger.
We throw some breakers in our 2000 Marathon "H", curbside compartment nearest the tag. There are 3 breakers we trip that cut the 12 volt drain on the chassis batteries. It has taken 3 busses and 2 of which were Marathons to be told this trick. Now, if the coach needs to sit for more than 3 weeks, we trip the breakers and the chassis batteries don't drain flat.
