    Default Rubber Bumper Issues

During my trip home from Kerrville, I noted a slightly perceptable harmonic vibration that I thought was benign. However, upon further inspection, a serious issue was uncovered relative to some severely worn rubber bumpers located in the bay door latch area.

A quick call to Prevost produced the aformentioned parts in record time and I have been able to replece EVERY one of the offending bumpers while parked here in Chula Vista. And as a tribute to MangoMike aka Prevostman, here are detailed photos of the operation.

    Default The King!

Jdub, you are indeed the official KING of rubber mounting... It was a trojan effort to say the least. It takes a real man indeed to mount one with a rivet gun... You are my hero...

You got a part number? I'd hate to call Prevost and ask them for the thingies that JDUB just purchased ....?

    Exclamation More Bad News

Well I had the part number and the little bag they came in up until a couple of hours ago.

Just ask them for the rubber bumpers that are a part of the bay door latch assembly. That's what I did and I got the correct ones.

However, on the trip from San Diego to Anaheim, I discovered that there are actually four (4) more of these bumpers installed on the coach and two of them were in critical condition.

They are located on the engine doors and are mounted opposed to each other on the driver's side door. When you close the driver door (the first one) the inside bumpers rest against the coach door frame. When you close the second door (pass side) the door rests against the bumpers that are on the opposite side (now facing rearward).

I am sure it was just a matter of time before these hardened, brittle bumpers would have caused a major problem.

But since I ordered extras when on the phone with Prevost, I was able to replace them while in the new RV park in Anaheim and we have complete rubber bumper homeostasis.

I'll post pictures when I get back from visiting the Mouse.
