If we ever have a rally in New Orleans, Oak Alley plantation would make a great side trip. It is awesome!!

Actually, there are several plantations in the area. Nottaway plantation has 5 guest rooms for over night guests,

Oak Alley is by far the prettiest, IMO!

Are there any decent "campgrounds" along the River Road?

    Debbie,

Where are you and Jamie staying? French Quarter RV resort in New Orleans?

John - There are a few plantations with Rv parking :

    Poche Plantation http://www.pocheplantation.com/index.php?e=5

Oak Alley had Rv spots & power - http://www.oakalleyplantation.com

Tuga - Yes we stayed at the French Quarter RV Resort - that place was great. Close to everything - for those of you who are timid about being in an area that is not like a Scandinavian Country - this place is safe.

    Jamie,

What is a "Scandinavian Country" like? I spent time in Helsinki, Finland and thought it was fine.
