We have been to the Hearst Castle a couple of times, it is definately worth the effort. It is very impressive.

Too bad there isn't an RV park close by.

A couple of parks down in Morro Bay, and you can dry camp in San Simeon State Park.

This was one of our most favorite trips. Like Steve said there is a decent but tight park at Morro Bay that is doable and a beautiful drive up to San Simeon. There is a tremendous amount of things to do in the area, especially so if you enjoy really good Pinot's and Cabernet's. Nearby San Luis Obispo is probably our favorite city in the country.
