USAA sent me to Progressive and they and several others wanted over 2 grand. The prior owner had "farm bureau" of NC at $700. I joined the MD branch. They dont write their own but work with Nationwide and got me under a grand.

A few months later they said I need an appraisal to keep "declared value"

Anyone know how I get one?

    Hi Liam

I went through the same thing at my last renewal.

Try contacting a POG sponsor that specializes in Coach Sales - there are several.

Ask them what their professional opinion is as far as the value of the coach?? That should suffice for your insurance company.

It is what it is and your premium should reflect it.

Good Hunting...... Prices ARE all over the board right now !!

National Interstate renewal came while we were in Palm Springs. Funny thing this time they want another appraisal for "agreed value". Had they sent a note a month sooner instead notification on the renewal due end of March, we could found someone while we were in bus Mecca, Indio California. Holy crap, who in the intermountain west knows busses? Even if we lower our declared value, we still must have an appraisal!! Cripe, we pay an inflated premium for our agreed value as it is. I hate the insurance business, all of it is tantamount to legalized theft.

Steve Bennett had done an appraisal for me previously when I needed one for insurance. He did a nice write-up, with pictures and it was perfect.

Millennium did mine via email with detailed pictures and info. Saved my butt. Great to deal with. Much like a house, it is condition and recent comparables.

My insurance policy is coming up for renewal soon. I'm looking for insurance companies that will cover higher end coaches. Any suggestions?.

    Hi Doug,

Call Bill Tuttle at Explorer RV(888) 774-6778

Make sure you tell him you are a POG member - they will give a discount.
