Default CRUISEAIR (FRONT) LEAKING WATER INTO STEERING BAY

When in use it will dump water into the bay. Does anyone know how to access this unit to check for a clogged drain or something? Have read forums abt a large outside air filter that hasn`t been located only a 12 x 12 filter in the compressor bay. Appreciate any help.

The water would come from the evaporator. I think it will be located in the cabinet behind the drivers seat on a Vantare H. It should have a hose attached to it that would run down through the bay to underneath the coach. It could be plugged with debris or disconnected.

Not sure about the cabinet... but our 2 front cruiseair units are located in the front bumper where the spare tire is usually placed. If you do not see two rubber boots for the drip hose lines, then one (or more) may have come off and could be filled with debris as Steve says. We have a 2004 H.

Behind the drivers seat we have a cabinet with 2 drawers.. we can access ours by removing the drawers then removing the wall (a screwed in board) or you may be able to access it by just removing the vent (grill) on the front... that is where your filter will be and it can usually be washed and put back in place. You may be able to access drain lines from that vent I am not sure how yours is set up.

Also check behind the passengers seat as you have another evaporator there (if it's like ours) and it can be accessed the same way.. you need to keep those filters clean and vacuum out that whole cabinet several times a year. It's hard to believe how much dust and dirt accumulates in those areas.

    Good luck,

Is it possible to run a speedometer type wire up the drain tubes to see if they are blocked? Something flexible and not sharp.

Located the grill behind driver`s seat & found no filter (Missing?), vaccumed out stuff from inside but no drain line found.Like the idea of using a wire to clean drain tubes. Spent the evening locating and cleaning behind all floor vents and filters. What a nasty job but like has been said this is a neccessary task.

Ran the front A/C for abt 20mins & didn`t see any water in steering bay. We had rain last nite & this morning water was in the far back right corner of the bay ? Where could that come from ? Appears to be coming from under a large aluminum vertical plate which may house the cruiseairs?

A brush like this for trombone cleaning might do the trick.

You should be able to get that brush locally in a music store.
