Default Series 60 Serpertine belt problem

Just had new serpertine belt installed by Detroit dealer and drove 40 miles and threads are protruding from the edge. Appears to wide --- does anyone have part number and or brand of proper belt? Thanks

    DANSssssss

This is the Napa number on my series 60 25 - 120738.

I don't have the pneumatic belt tensioner on mine. I don't know if it's the same belt on either.

    Dan,

If the edges are fraying, look closely for an alignment problem. Since most coaches are different, even those by the same converter, without more information or pictures it is hard to say where to look, but assuming it is only driving the alternator (off the block) start looking there.

When you take it off check the idler bearings. There are a few of us that have had problems there and if one is wobbling that may be the problem.
