    Default Cold tire pressure values

My tires have a marked 110 Front 100 Drive and 90 Tag put on by someone(maybe Marathon) in one of my bays. Are these some of the same values that others use in an XL?

    Doug,

The tire pressure information you found may or may not be relevant to your current tire configuration. There have been numerous threads written on the subject of tire pressure. For the whole story suggest you search "tire pressure". The first place to look for recommended tire pressure on a Prevost is on the side panel adjacent to the driver or on your 99 probably on the door jam. If you have a Prevost Owner's Manual for your coach the information will also be listed there. You also might want to check the articles section of the site and check the "Limits for your Coach" article.

That said, the only sure way to calculate correct tire pressure is to weigh the coach axle by axle or better yet, each end of each axle. Do this with full fuel, water and consumables. With this information in hand, go to the tire manufacturers website and find the inflation and load data for your tires. For instance, here is the Michelin data: http://www.michelinrvtires.com/miche...ion-tables.jsp. Be sure to read and heed the instructions.

As you can imagine, a blowout in your bus can be a very bad thing. Running your tires just 20% low for any length of time will ruin the sidewall integrity of your tires. Finally if you haven't already seen it here is a great video on handling a blowout situation in an RV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkwOE...e_gdata_player.

When you're on the road, enjoying the great ride, don't forget to make frequent tire pressure checks. Have fun.
