    Default Tachometer died

So we're nicely headed home and I notice that the tach is reading nada, zilch. Not that the tach is critical to operating but I would like to get it back in operating condition.
I suppose the first place to look is inside the dash to make sure the connections are solid but after that I will need help.
Where does the signal come from and is there a way to test the gauge? Any ther ideas are welcome.
BTW, this is on an 8V-92 TA.
    Thanks

    Chuck,

In my 92 Angola, I had an issue where the tach started working intermittently and then it died all together. I had to replace the tach with a new VDO from Prevost. Shortly thereafter, the speedometer also quit working. If I remember correctly it is not just a simple plug in the new one and you are done. I tried that and it would not work. I had to take it to a shop and have the shop calibrate it to my bus. Good luck.
