Press Release

06/30/2011

There has been a lot of industry talk about Lithium Ion Batteries. We have been working on one for Military applications. There are other companies also selling Lithium Ion for Marine and RV applications. We just want to make sure all of our customer are getting the correct information. The sales pitch seems to be you can take a large number of our 8D batteries and replace them with 1 small Lithium Ion Battery. Although this would be great, this is not the case. Amp hour is still Amp hour. If you have a 1200 amp hour battery bank in Lead acid, GEL or AGM and you wanted to switch to Lithium Ion and get the same performance then you would need 1200 amp hour in Lithium Ion as well. It seems a lot of end users are under the impression that you can take a 1200 amp hour battery bank and replace it with (1) 100 amp hour Lithium and get the same run time. This is just not the case.

Hopefully together we can educate our customers and make sure that they have the knowledge before they go out and buy Lithium Ion and be disappointed by the run time. Although the technology has some promising attributes, and we are diligently working on them to explore all of its benefits, it is not a miracle battery. Amp hour is still amp hour.

Thank You
