Default Colorado Springs to Kerrville, TX route?

Need help with my route to Buckhorn Rv Park in Kerrville, TX.

This is what I have picked out and need input to whether it is good or bad.

I-25 south to Hwy 64 south of Raton
Hwy 64 to Clayton, where it looks like it changes to Hwy 87
Hwy 87 to Dumas then 87 south to Amarillo
I-27 south out of Amarillo to Lubbock
Hwy 87 south out of Lubbock
Hwy 87 all the way thru San Angelo to Eden
Hwy 83 south out of Eden to I-10
    I-10 east to Kerrville.

If anyone has a beter route please let me know.

    Thanks

Andre, this route you have planned is how we came home from Kerrville in 2006. However, with one change, we continued up Rte 287 thru Lamar Co and hit I -70 at Limon. But from your jumping point in the Springs, going south to Raton, and over to Dumas is good road and scenery.
We usually overnight at Wal Mart Dumas, on the northside of the building east of the east driveway.
    See you there.

    Elliott,

It took us 2 days to get home with an overnight at the Dumas Tx Wal Mart. From Kerrville via Lubbuck to Dumas was 532 miles from 9:45CST am to 8:00CSTpm of driving and peeing dogs, and then from Dumas to Home via Springfield, Co and Lamar north was374.8 miles from 9:27am CST to 4:43 pmMST Change in time zones and we added an hour to going home,
