    Default Checking Generator Oil

I have a Powertech generator. The manual shows a dipstick on the left side about 8 inches from the starter. It's not there. The only way I see to check the oil level is to remove a yellow cap on the right side. I took the cap off and it has no dipstick. I could not see any oil either.

    What's the real scoop here?

Unless that was made by BMW (a company that does not have dipsticks except for the people who designed the cars without one) there has got to be one somewhere.

I never had a Powertech, but that looks like a Kubota and perhaps its on the other side?

My dipstick is about 8 inches to the left of my oil filter, but I see yours is a different configuration than mine. Look under that black solenoid and make sure it is not there. I think these are Kubota engines.

    Jon/Dale,

You are right. The dipstick was there and is located on the right side between the fuel filter and the stop lever and solenoid. My back was so sore from polishing all my copper tubing I did not bend down enough to see the little yellow dipstick.

    Thanks.

    Manual was obviously wrong.
