    Mike & Colleen,

French Quarter RV resort is a really nice gated park located just blocks from Bourbon St. and the French Quarter. Like Loc stated, it is located in a bad part of the city but as long as you walk around during daylight hours you will be o.k. After dark I would take a cab back to the RV park.

Enjoy New Orleans and all she has to offer, which is a great deal. We love the beignets at Cafe DuMonde for breakfast, Mandina's for lunch (shrimp poboy), and Galatorie's for supper. The entertainment in the French Quarter is great with street musicians and mimes plus the jazz bands in clubs. Take a tour of the plantation homes on the Mississippi River; Oak Alley and Nottaway are two of our favorites. Also, ride the street car on St. Charles Ave. and see the beautiful manisons and old live oaks. The D-day Museum is really great and so is the new Aquarium. Try your luck at Harrah's Casino downtown within walking distance of the RV park. You will be there during the cool season; before the heat and humidity roll in. Have fun

    Mike and Colleen,

I have stayed at the KOA in Nashville, it's ok but I prefer Yogi Bear it has a little more room to manuver but watch the water pressure, they have warning signs all over for high pressure. I'm glad you are making the trip to Savannah, I always have fun with the Prouds and I will look you up to say hello.

Thanks everyone. We've picked Cages Bend (Corps of Engineers) for Nashville, and French Quarter RV for NOLA. I'll let you know how it works out. Mike

We liked the Two Rivers Campground in Nashville and French Quarter RV
NOLA. Know you have made a choice, just wanted to let you know about Two Rivers as an alternate if you need it.

We are in New Orleans right now. The park seems very nice and secure. Walked to the French Quarter for brunch this morning. The only thing they told us was not to walk across a large parking area outside the park at night. It was better to take a cab back.

Enjoy the food and hospitality of this interesting city! Jacque's-Imo is a funky, quaint restaurant outside the French Quarter, off of Carrollton and Oak. Food was delicious with recommendation coming from locals. Also ate at Emeril's. Fantastic!
