    Default Oil Collectors

Seen an oil collector made by Retractable Tow LLC advertised that claims to collect all the oil spray passing thru the crankcase breather tube keeping it from fouling the tow vehicle and back of the bus. Does anyone have experience with this system? Is it worth the trouble? Is it even needed or are Prevost's such fine machines (always polished) that oil doesn't stick to em? It was priced at about 30.00 bucks so its inexpensive.

The crankcase breathers get a lot of flack for oil film on the rear of the bus and the toad. We had an 8V92 and I extended the tubes and I added a can to collect the oil. The reality was that after a 1000 miles the can had virtually nothing in it.

A very time consuming but careful effort to tighten every single oil and fuel leak ultimately eliminated the film on the engine doors (inside and out) as well as on the toad.
