I read this information and am sorry these folks had to experience what they did. Now, here is the problem I have with the story. This is an excellent example of an individual who thought he was doing everything possible to protect himself. Went through handgun training, took the test and got the license. Bought several firearms and probably even practiced now and then. What he failed to do and what got him in a jam is this: This individual never made the serious decision to actually make the handgun part of his daily lifestyle. Carrying a firearm must change the way you think and act from the moment you decide you want to carry. This fellow actually left his firearms so poorly concealed that the intruders were able to find them with little effort. He is most fortunate that the intruder didn't come out shooting to make his getaway. Hopefully this is a wake up call for everyone who carries. If you are going to leave your handgun behind, it needs to be locked away in a secure location, or at least hidden so as to prevent it being found. More importantly, if you make the decision to carry, be willing to accept the responsibility that goes along with it.

A burglar broke into a house one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables, and when he picked up a CD player to place in his sack, a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying, “Jesus is watching you.”

He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight out, and froze. When he heard nothing more after a bit, he shook his head, promised himself a vacation after the next big score, then clicked the light on and began searching for more valuables.

Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard, “Jesus is watching you.” Freaked out, he shone his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot. “Did you say that?” He hissed at the parrot.

“Yep,” the parrot confessed, then squawked, “I’m just trying to warn you.” The burglar relaxed. “Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?”

    “Moses,” replied the bird.

“Moses?” the burglar laughed. “What kind of people would name a bird Moses?”

“The kind of people that would name a rottweiler, like the one behind you, Jesus.”
