Thread: East Coast Turn Around

    Default East Coast Turn Around

My wife and I will do a west to east coast trip and return in late June through mid July. I-40 from LA to Atlanta and return. Any suggestions for overnights in Albequerque, Amarillo, Little Rock (going) and Memphis, Amarillo, and Flagstaff on the return. Any suggestions appreciated. Also, great restaurants if you have recommendations.

    Thanks,
    Richard and Audrey Barnes

In Amarillo there is a very nice new resort called the Oasis. West end of town.

IN Gallup I've generally stopped at USA RV Park, (discount to Veterans)

Just north of Albuquerque is Santa Fe, and the Santa Fe Skies RV Park

Tom Sawyer Mississippi River Campground in West Memphis, Arkansas. The overlook the Mississippi and you can watch the tow boats day and night run the river. It is a couple miles off of the interstate but it beats the Graceland campground hands down. The website is www.tomsawyersrvpark.com.

We stayed here last February waiting out a bad ice storm up north by Branson. Right on the Arkansas River across from the Clinton Presidential library and adjacent to the Riverfront Area. All in all a nice place and reasonable . Take I530 south in towards town while heading east and get off just before crossing river. Park is on North East side of river. Really pretty easy to get into and out of. Good Fueling stops on East side of town I40 when leaving

We've stayed at American Way Rv Park in Albuquerque up I-40 west of the fling J, a tight fit. Enchanted Trails on the other side of I-40 next to Camping World has better sites with few trees.
Flagstaff, we stay at Black Barts across the street from the Sinclair Truckstop.. Its not much to look at, but has 50 amp, plus water and sewer real cheap.
Friends have stayed at the Meteor Crater RV park right off I-40, 30 or so miles east of Flagstaff.

Hmmmmmm a trailer park directly across from the Clinton library, I wonder if James Carvil would want to comment on that?
