Default Radiator Fan Belt Drive - 8V92

    Orren,

What's the difference between a Gates A-92 and A-94? The parts list for mine calls for the A-92, but I have the molded A-94. I assume the 92 is a single belt vs the molded. The Gates site is a little confusing.

    I also need back-up belts, I Pm'd you...

Tom, The difference is 2 inches, the A92 is 94" and the A94 is 96" in length. If you are after the molded belt in the triple configuration it would be 3/A92 or 3/A94. A particular application would be dictated by how much adjustment is available in your belt tensioner. The same would be true if you had two belts on an application the actual part number would be proceded by a '2/'. I got your note and Ralph is sending your belts out on UPS later today.

    Orren,

Thanks, I thought the 92 vs 94 meant 2" longer, but the gates belt I have has no prefix to identify it as 3 belt molded. I wasn't sure if my Prevost manual calling for an A-92 was a single belt or molded. I kind of assumed that if I ordered an A-92, it would be a single, since there is no 3/ prefix. Maybe Powerband is the magic word identifying molded.

Now all I have to do is get Brain to tell me if the spare 94 is right or wrong?

Tom, All I can remember is I bought spares based on what was running on the machine at the time.
