Of all the muscle cars I've owned, I never owned a goat. But, a buddy of mine had a '65 and it was really nice.
Hard to believe the brands that gave us the Hemi 'Cudas, 442's and now the GTO are gone forever.
Might as well warm up the fare-thee-well reception for the camaro and vette as well. I think the writing is on the wall on that one over there at GMC (Gummint Motor Cooperative).
Sad part about GM's plight is they have come out with some very compelling products here recently....CTS-V, Camaro, etc.
Truly a sign of the times....
Competition and the resulting improvements has lengthened the useful lifespan of the automobile significantly.
I am quite confident we will see 250000 over a 20 year period with a 1/2 ton p/u while enjoying very reliable service along the way. Currently it is 12 with 170000 and we get compliments on it. I never wax it and it sits out in the winter. It has the original exhaust.
This will be remembered as the golden age of the automobile. Muscle, luxury, technology, style, when have we had better all at the same time?
Where will we be in 10 years?
I will still be in my 98 1/2 ton, I hope
