    Default Air Filter

I am surprised that the air filter in my bus is different than the one in the 1997s. I see Jon's filter list says he uses a Baldwin PA2333. Mine uses a Baldwin PA2839. Did Prevost make frequent changes to the configuration of the air systems? Mine currently has a Donaldson P522874 on it.

    Dale,

Mine is a 94 and it takes the same as yours, Donaldson 2874, Baldwin 2839 or Fram CA7113.

Tom, That makes it a little more confusing. I wonder why Jon's is different. The Napa # for ours is 6623. What is the best/cheapest source for the filter?

The best price I've seen so far is $55.83 plus 10.28 shipping for a total of $66.11. That's from National Filters, Inc. I'm going to check locally tomorrow, and see what I can find.

I assume I must have initially been looking at the list of filters that applied to the 87 vice the 97 vintage.

    Dale,

I bought one at Fleetpride about 3 weeks ago for 55.69, tax included.

I guess this is a question for Jon. Is the list of filters used in the articles section of the site for your 1987 or your 1997?

I need to order filters and with the chatter in this post concerning filter numbers?

Baldwin PA 2839 is the filter for my Series 60.

I can't remember the number for the 8V92 coach but PA2333 sounds right.

The difference apart from the part numbers is the one on the 87 coach was secured with about 6 hex bolts around the outer perimeter. The 97 coach uses a center wing nut to draw the air filter tight.

I would take a picture but mine is covered with a highly polished real copper plate to cover up the rather ugly dull metal finish and plastic wingnut.

I keep reading about how you keep that motorcoach clean, sparkling, polished, painted under and in. Take/submit pictures anyway, please, so that I can slip into depression and add to my list of things to do.

    Please?

Tom, You got a better deal than I did. Today I paid $61 plus tax at a local shop. Out of four truck shops in town, it was the cheapest. The others were $71 to $85.
