    Default The POG at Oshkosh

Just got off the phone with Mike and he and Jon have officially encamped at the previously discussed spot. The coaches have landed.

N630SU has made the trip from Houston to Rockford, Ill. (skirted around the front and the thunderstorms) and we are preparing for the evening hanger party before the mass flight tomorrow.

Will post some photos later, but the temp in Rockford is 72 but slightly wet. Much better than Houston.

Weil POG2OSh has officially started w/ the arrival of 3 busses.

We're looking forward to the arrival of JDUB and his FLying V's. Won't be the same this year without Pilot Lew to give us the tour airplane land.

Will post some Texas size photos tomorrow.

After making a bombing run on poor Lew, Jerry and the BonanzoEttes landed in mass today (100 planes) in Oshkosh. I have to tell you that Jerry flies a hell of a lot better than he drives that bus. Very impressive.

He and Rae are camped under the wing down the Hill from Park Prevost, so Jon, Al C and I are keeping close tabs on them from the comfort of our easy chairs.

    Default MangoMike - The Man

Well we made it to OSH and we can use the airplane again, so it must have been a successful flight.

A great POG2OSH dinner last night at Camp Prevost. Mike whipped up some grub and we enjoyed the COOL weather. And we were able to retrieve my new scooter (remember the one Mike had at POG1) in his Toaster, so it is charged and we drove them over to breakfast this morning so life is good.

Mango & Jerry......hey that sounds like a group from the '60's Mungo Jerry!
Oh well, I digress, what Ellen would like to know is what is the brand, where can she get it, and is it a quality item? We purchased an electric folding bike a few years back and have had nothing but trouble. Ken

P.S. We wish we could be with you folks. Ellen is from nearby Appleton. Maybe we could plan a POG rally for Osh Gosh By Gosh for next year? Since Ellen still works, some one has too, we have to schedule vacation in advance.

Well we are in the catbird seat again this year with a parking spot on the end of the row right next to the approach end of RWY 9. Someone augered in at the other end of the runway first thing this morning, so it has been shut down until just now.

We have the premium viewing spot, so if Mike gets up here shortly we will post some pictures. All we need now is Lew.

Also, remember to post any pithy comments about Jon this week while he is out of touch. Mike told him last night that the POG had a new LED thread going in his honor.....

That generator must have run like a big dog on 100LL. First thing I thought when I saw the picture was the big flame snuffer taking fuel samples from the planes to keep the doctor killer going! Must be the only air conditioned tent at Osh.

    Wish I was there....

    Tom,

The 100 LL keeps the generator humming along so we can keep the computer, scooters, cell phones, hand held radio and lights charged while running the AC. We also have lots of neighbors who come by to charge their stuff, but we make the Mooney people go up to the shower house, but you can't really haul enough stuff in a Mooney to have anything worth charging.

I should use this time to harpoon Mike and Jon since we know Jon is up, but has no computer access and Mike is sound asleep. I don't know if Jeff is up with the chickens, but we heard a thunderstorm rumbling early and had to lash down the gear.

Jon has everyone believing that the Beach Boys are the ones staying in the Prevosts, so Mike wants to set by the coach all day waiting for the chicks to come ask for his autograph. And seeing as how the Beach Boys are playing here tonight, so far it is a believable story. Go figure.

Default Don't be Playn with Matches

JDUB: Glad to see your mama taught you not to play with matches. I know you put out oil fires, but did you hear about the two rednecks who blew up a car and put themselves in the hospital while stealing gas? They struck a match to see how much gas was in the can.

Beach Boys - more like Drivers for the beach bums

Looks like fun for everyone- including JPJ.
