Anyone know how to test the sensors attached to the holding tank and can they be removed? I don't understand how they are held in the tank.

Tom, There is an expanding rubber washer behind the plastic nut. Loosen the nut and you will be able to wiggle the sender out of the hole. The senders foul easily with debris from the tank (usually TP). Good news is they are very easy to clean and re-install. Would suggest you obtain some backup washers from Liberty as they won't last forever. And yes, I did try to find a better mouse trap. I think a capacitance system would work better however it would be a pain to make the change. As long as you keep the sensors clean, the Liberty system worked very well for us.
Does anyone have any ideas where these would be on my '84 Marathon? I'm desperate to clean these and get them accurate.
These sensors are a whopping 5 bucks a set.
Who in the heck ever allowed anything so inexpensive to be installed
