    Lewie,
    I think the dirt gets in there through the filler cap if the rubber seal doesn't do it's job. Mine is nice and snug and I had no dirt or crud inside. Are you still up north, we're heading to Brockport (Rochester) second week in August? Have to hurry, summer is only the month of August. Looks like it will take major Lew/AARP bucks for the fuel.

    Yep, still in Elmira. Trying to plan a trip to the Adirondacks and then to NJ if my relatives don't stop changing their itinery. I work around them.

    When I had a service station 30 years ago I had some awesome tanks burried out in the country nearby and filled them with gas. I traded the gas for fuel oil when I purchased my diesels a few years ago with a oil distributor, so I have no problem with the price of fuel until I get 800 miles from home.
