Well, as it happens, I found a unit on Craigslist for $200. It's a DE-561 and the manual doesn't state anything about amonia, and my big nose never detected any. ( I can smell gear oil, amonia, licorice or any other offensive odor 100' away) It wasn't exactly a fun time swapping the refrigerators, but it could have been much worse! I thank GOD I didn't have to remove the windshield! I did have to trim 1/2" off the top of the cabinet, and I can only screw down on side of the unit to the cabinet due to it being 1" narrower than the one I killed.
