    Default Driving directions, please?

    Hey folks,
We are in the midst of a tough leg of our tour right now. Very tired, so I want to make sure I'm thinking straight.

We are headed from Redding, CA to Ontario, OR (yes, Oregon). And then onto Lake Havasu City, AZ (where Warren has graciously offered us a place to hook up overnight.)

So, I'm thinking 299/395 from Redding to Ontario? Am I missing something good if I go this way? We don't have a ton of time... need to be to Ontario by early Saturday morning.

Then from Ontario to Havasu? Looks like we have two options. If I follow Yahoo maps it says to take 93 the whole way. I have never been on 93. What's it like? Other option would be to stay on interstate and take I-15, but the mileage is much hight. (But I can go faster:-)

    Thoughts?

Thanks for your help. Now, who's up for some driving? Come on now. You know you want to see our show in Ontario and then drive through the night on a rural 2 lane highway, ending up hundreds/thousands of miles from home:-)

Just to be clear, we need to be in Ontario on Saturday AM and in Havasu by Monday afternoon.

    thanks,

    Adam

Adam, 93 is beautiful and all, but a winding collection of roads through old farming towns with many stop signs and very few services.

If you were killing time, I would be full on fuel and head on 93.

If you are trying to make time, stay on 84 over to I-15 and turn some money into noise!

Once in Vega$ take 215E this is through LV propper and on the South end of town, to 95S. This will take you through Searchlight, to I40E to 95S. There are two 95's (make sure it says to Lake Havasu City, otherwise you will end up on the wrong side of the river, and you are screwed. Repeating.. Cross over the river before you turn off, be on the East side of the Colorado River.

    There is a Pilot @ I-40 & 95S where you are heading.

    The campground is off 95 10 or 15 miles S/ of I-40

Interesting. I've never used Yahoo Maps, and based upon it's recommendations here, I would be suspect.

Google maps recommends exactly the route that Warren suggested.

We used to say it whilst flying, as a turbine engine is very efficient at turning money into noise.. Turns out a Series 60 aint half bad either..

No, not at all. I was amazed that yahoo maps would route them in such a fashion.
