    Default Sevierville Road Tips

Jon, Heading west on I 40 is it best to stay on 40 and drop south on 441 or can I go SW on 411 into Sevierville. We will be coming from our daughters house in Stanley, N.C. and 411 looks like a 20 mile shortcut. Would I have any mirrors left and would my Jeep still be attached if I used the shortcut ?

    Jim,

I have driven 411 from Newport into Sevierville in a semi, and while it is narrow and curvy in spots you will be able to make it with no problems.

However, my issues with the narrow TN roads are not with my ability to stay in my lane on the narrow roads, but with the yahoos that are local, familiar with the roads, and driving their clapped out pickups too fast coming at you from the other direction. Personally I would take I 40 from either direction to exit 407 and proceed south from there to the campground. Coming from my house there is a shorter way, but I will be taking I 40 to exit 407.

The benefit to the guys using this routing is that they get to see the Bass pro shop, the Smokey Mountain Knife works, and the Tool Place next to the knofe works. That is good stuff to remember for a place to visit on the free day while the wives are at the outlets spending money.

Jon, Thanks for the good information. I'm sure others will also appreciate your advice. FYI, my wife has convinced me " the more she shops the more money she saves me " as we go merrily, merrily through life !

Default Caravan to Seiverville from Atlanta Area?

Our plans are to leave Atlanta, ( Alpharetta ) Sunday the 13th early morning and get to Tn. early afternoon?

Any of you have plans to be in the area around that time, and want to hook up for a caravan?

The caravan from Houston, to Kerrville for POG III was fantatic ( I have Pictures ) even though I was in a Discovery at the time. BUT NOT THIS TIME !
