    Awright.

There seem to be a few things in common in this group and we haven't gotten to the music stuff yet.

My vote for Heavy Metal Music is the sound of the Turbo winding up with a close second being the start of a diesel engine in the morning.

Any seconds? (I know where this one is going).

No sense voting...the clear heavy metal winner is the sound of an 8V92, or Mango wiping out a generator baffle.

As per Jon, my vote is with the 8V92 for the good sounds.
Cummins, Cats, even a Series 60 sounds like a girlie engine in comparison.

About 1955 my dad to my brother and I to see an Allison Engine powered dragster. I think the guys name was Art Arfons and he called his dragster The Green Monster. Now that was some "heavy metal" that darn near made me wet my pants. It was the first time I felt the ground shake from a big engine and I've never gotten completely over it. That is a good memory, thanks.

In the early 60's, there were a couple of Allison V12's mounted in old tractor frames that were making the rounds of the tractor pulls.
The sound was incredible when they went to work.
