We had planned to stay at the casino in Joliet for our visit to Chicago, unfortunately they do not allow children.

Anyone have any ideas about parking close to Chicago... I think we are going to stay with friends so we don't need a fancy campground.

There is a place called Windy City Campground-Tinley Park, Ill.

Nuthin fancy although we enjoy it. I proposed to Deb there in the back of a 12ft slide-in truck camper about 17 years ago.

It is right on I-80 at the Harlem exit, the first exit west of I-57. Chicago metro area is kinda spread out, where is your friends local, I might be able to get you closer.

This is 30 minutes or so to downtown if no back-ups. I am not aware of any closer to downtown.
