Default Dragon Lady, Motorcycles and me

Here is a picture of my little Beemer on the trailer. This trailer only weighs about 200 lbs: Hence I can manhandle it and the trailer around easily if I need to. Mainly use this little set up behind a truck camper to keep the weight down. I have a small enclosed trailer but I like this when I want quick and easy.

I have a K1200LT to use when I want to boom--still my prefered way to tour.
Here I am when I was a volunteer at Bryce Canyon. One 4 hour shift a week --I rode around as outreach to motorcyclists.

Also a picture from my Harley days. Dragon Lady and I rode the Trans Canada Highway east to west and back. This picture is when we were at Glacier National Park.
Note, we have a dog in the box on the back of the bike.
    Yeah, I know: Village People

The red Harley is me and Dragon Lady at Point Reyes NP in California. We flew out to San Diego, borrowed my son's Harley and rode the pacific coast up to Washington state and back.

Advancing age is cutting back on big bike trips--hence the little 650 to stay in the sport longer. With my bum hip, back, and knees, it is sometimes tough to get the big beemer off the side stand when I have it loaded down. I can still ride it fine though.

Dragon Lady is older also. Got the Prevost to carry her around.

    Talking Motorcycling

Hi Jim. Everyone in my family has been into motorcycling but me. It looks like you have enjoyed the lifestyle quite a lot over the years. What made you decide on the BMW ? I have friends who have chose the BMW over other bikes. My Brothers have always been into Sazuki and Honda.

Hi Jim, Relative to getting the "big beemer off the side stand". I have been seeing many more of the three wheeled bikes lately. Maybe it's time for another change

    garyde:
The big beamers were more suited to my riding style--fairly long distance trouble free riding. Am partial to the amenities!
    anti-lock brakes
    electric wind screen
    am,fm,cassette,6 holer CD player,weather radio,
    integral cup holder
    reverse
    heated grips/seats
    suspension--paralever and telelever
    cruise control
long range for a bike --325 at speed
    trip computer
    adjustable head light
    center stand
    higher CCC

all standard except the heated seats

    Jim:
A trike just seems to be the worst of all worlds to me.
I think I will look hard at Mini-Coopers!
