    Default Sandusky, Ohio park??

Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice RV park in Sandusky, Ohio? I have done an internet search and have only come up with the one at Cedar Point and we would rather not drive the causeway in all that traffic. Then of course there is the noise factor of staying in that park. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

Debi & Bob-OO: I am not sure which way you are headed or your general plan, but it is nice to see El Bob-OO out of the South Carolina Biltmore and on the road.

There is a killer RV park, called Harbortown RV in Michigan over the border from Toledo. I can't remember the name of the town. Anyway, when we were there, hmmm, about 3-4 years ago, it was brand-spanking new, with cement driveways, pads, function halls and you-name-it. The people were even nice to us.

Of course, we pretty much trashed the place with my backing-up skills and, well, y'know, but the damage is likely repaired by now. FYI. It is near an area where a lot of folks go fishing, so weekends may be busy.

We met some very nice people there as well. They must have been very nice people to be kindly to lost camper people from New England who talk funny.

Well Bob0, As Jeff said, not sure which way your headin, and Ohio being quite barren of RV parks the only other I can think of is: http://www.eaglelakecampingresort.com/
It is close to I-80/I-90, Exit #81 ARO 4 Mi. area, but if your going to Cedar Point you still must drive the causeway.

Why not stay at CP and arrive in the middle of the night when all are sleeping and causeway is empty, then you will be there, but if the noise bothers you why go at all?

    Jeff's recommendation is:
    http://www.harbortownrv.com/
and in Monroe, MI just N of Toledo,OH but being from OH you know that.

    Jeff,

MI is just a little far for our purposes. My parents have a cabin cruiser at the Sandusky Yacht Club which is the reason we may be headed that way and I was hoping that we wouldn't have to dry camp. Thanks for the info though!

And Jim, we will not be going to Cedar Point Great place but no kids with us this time!!

Thanks for the nice tip about Cedar Point.

I just made reservations there for the 18 + 19th on the Way to Oshkosh. The Mangoettes are going to love it.

Plus I'll probably be eating for free there after my attorney contacts them about trademark violations. It seems they have a Mango Mike's on the property. Life is good.

Last time we were there the little darlins were on their worst behaviour and it reminded Di and I why some animals eat their young.

We were scorned by beer swilling parents whose delinquents in training seemed to think it was OK to use our bus as a football goal post.

    We won't be going back.

Debi, It might be possible to stay at the Erie county fair ground. It is close to where you are going. Don't know if they allow it. http://www.eriecountyohiofair.com/contactus.html

I think I'd try the marina itself, there is usually plenty of room ond often times power as well. We have used a few and really enjoy overnighting at marinas.

Thanks everyone for your replies! I did more searching and found this park just outside of Cedar Point:

Joe, the marina idea is a good one as well.

Mike, they never used to have a Mango Mike's there but it has been years since Bob and I actually went to Cedar Point. I sure wish we would have purchased a few investment houses along the causeway 28 years ago during our boating years. At the time we thought no one would want to live there. Now the "Northcoast" has exploded with growth......hindsight is great If the Mangoettes like the biggest roller coasters in the world, crowds of people, and junk food they will love it there
