    Default Battery Charging

While traveling my radio and refrigerator stopped working. The red light came on one of my Magnum inverters came on. I cranked my generator, and everything came back on. Should me 12-volt generator keep them on, or will bad batteries cause this? My 12-volt generator is charging 13.4 volts. Could I have a problem with one of my inverters? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

What is the label on the inverter red light that came on?

Going on a test run Saturday with new batteries, I will let you know if that was the problem.

House batteries charge while plugged in or running generator but not while driving. 12 volt reading on dash is 13.5 volts. Any ideas where to look?

13.5 volts means they are charging.

I suppose all buses are not the same ... but the two we have owned would run higher than 13.5 on the alternator. What makes you think that they are not charging?

Where are you reading the 13.4 volts? The glass dash on ours reads the chassis battery voltages. The only house battery voltage reading on ours is on the inverter panels.
