Snorkel with the Manatees

Every winter the waters near Crystal River, Fl become the home for large numbers of Manatees. If you're in the area and want to experience Manatees in their natural habitat, this is a must do. There are pontoon boat tours, snorkeling tours, and self or guide led kayak tours. Here's an opportunity to even save a couple bucks on a tour.

For those that will be in the Tampa area and don't want the drive 75 miles to Crystal River and would still like to see the Manatees, you can do so at TECO's power plant in Apollo Beach. Although you can't get near as close to them as you can in Crystal River, TECO has built a nice viewing platform and they do get many visiting Manatees that favor the warm water created by their discharge pipe.
