Any POG members in the Quartzsite area? Just arrived and curious if any other POG members are here. Any particular camp site areas one should check out that seem to attract the larger campers. There's got to be over a million people out here this weekend!
Christine and I will be there monday night! Left San Rafael today, stopping in L.A. for the weekend, then Prevost Mira Loma monday morning.... then on to Quartzsite! Let us know where you are?
Craig, one of our POG members " Gary Swaim" and I think a POG Sponsor is out in Quartsite now. I just spoke with Gary last week and he had just gotten there. Very busy working the crowds.

Curtis, where do you park at Quartsite? Are there R V spaces available ? I think I'm going thru there the end of the week and thought about stopping and checking it out.
The amazing thing about Quartzite is you can park at one of several RV Parks with Hook-ups or Park on the southern side of the freeway on Federal Land with no hook ups but for very little money. The last time I checked its was $16.00 for a permit from the Ranger. The guy who knows more about this is Ken Zitter.
Quartzsite is a amazing little town in January February. Hookup camp sites are available in town but at a premium this time of year however you can dry camp in the desert with access to water and sewer dump for $40 for two weeks. Ive left Quartzsite now however had four great days there. If you are in the area you definetly want to check it out.
I am heading to Quartzsite tomorrow morning if any Bus Nuts are in town. I will be camping with the Wanderlodge folks at La Posa South.
I am curious. For years I've read about this place and was excited about finally getting through there. Last year as I drove through Quartzite on the Interstate it looked like a shantytown. Never even got off drove right on by. I bet I'm not the only one who has had this reaction.
Now I assume the town itself is not the draw but rather the cheep boondocking?

I bet more than a few people r both curious and reluctant to pull off into the desert. In my beater absolutely but is it ok for a 54,000 lb bus? Post some decent photographs.

I definitely would go out there, just being careful where I go. Lots of big coaches go out there.
But I'm restricted from going, my wife abhors the idea of such a place. Thus we don't go. :)
I just arrived home from the Wanderlodge Rally, what a great time we had. The BlueBird group was absolutely amazing, potlucks, campfires, and Lots, I mean Lots of Bus Tech talking. Great time, can't wait for next year. The Big Tent was fun, and Got Pizza at Silly Al's. Would Highly recommend.

Wonderful, Scottsdale is a nice place. a bit hot for me about 6 weeks in the summer, but other than that it's tough to beat the Arizona climate.

Heading to Quartzsite tomorrow, we will be there thru Sunday 1/28 if anyone wants to join us. We will be camping with the WOG folks at LaPosa South LTVA.
Maye one day ... Leaving Thursday for West Palm with several friend visits along the way.
The Wanderlodge folks are holding a mini Rally Dec 27-Jan 1 if anyone is interested I can share the details. Location is Dead Horse Campground in Cottonwood AZ. Plenty of sites are avail.
Right after Christmas would be tough to schedule for us

Just got home, Camped in Cottonwood AZ for a week, had a great time with other Bus Owners. I also boondocked for free in Quartzsite to and fro. I can't wait to head back out there in a couple weeks for the Bus Rally.
