Works for me.
Yes,
If the dates are set The Nowak's are in for the race.
Let's the game's begin.
Alek
We'll be there. Looking forward to it.
Bonnie
Loogie eaters...:p
Gordon,
Kinda like choking down a phlegm ball. But if they are fried it seems to de-bugger them some.
Oysters are deep water loogies, boogers or cold water snots.
Clams are shore-line or low-tide loogies
Mussels are blue boogies
Snails are sling-shot snots. Not periwinkles, they don't fly straight.
For boys 8 to 14 these along with segmented sand worms and baby eels were dare food (live worms and eels).
At least that's what I remember from growing up in the Oyster Bay area.
A more recent addition to the seafood dictionary came from a relative from Germany. She refused to eat shrimp because they remind her of garden grubs and she refered to them as bugs. Funny thing is that she is not wrong.
We are just across the bay from Mobile and so thought we would like to join this crazy group. Where are yall camping? Bill
Shady Acres Campground just off DIP (Dauphin Island Parkway) close to I-10. The phone number is 251-478-0013 and the website is www.shadyacresmobile.com. Just tell them you're with the oyster-eating POG group. Hope you can make it.
Bonnie
Thanks Bonnie. I just called the Shady Acres and was told someone made reservations for March the 11th. Confirm that it is the 18th and they will change the date.
Bill
I said the 18th but will call and confirm. He said he would set aside about a dozen spots for us. Of course, if we need more, he can handle it. Thanks.
Bonnie
I'm booked into oyster heaven for Friday night since we will be in transit from Fort Wilderness back to Houston. Looking forward to choking down a few for sure.
JDUB
Ok--Confess up now;) Who called and reserved the first 2 parking spaces at Shady Acres? I guess Truk didn't want to be at the trash site again:D
I guess the ones that reserved those 2 spots will have to do the BIG cook one night!
Sandy
Wasn't me but we'll take them. We did the big cook last time we were there.
:D
Bonnie
Dan & Jo are in and booked!!
Sandy,
Mea culpa, mea culpa !
It is us that reserved 2 first spaces across the office. We are coming with friends, George and Shirley from down the street, I hope you remember them. Perhaps future Prevost owners (they have HR for now).
In case they will bow out we will put this spot for POG charity auction :D:D:D
Alek
Something told me it might be Alek & Lucia. But, I thought you were reserving it for me:D
Yes, I remember George & Shirley. Would they like to tour our bus to buy?:);)
Sandy
Sandy,
I haven't even called yet, but will request the dumpster site for the King!
Deb, Eric, and Jay will be there, arriving on 18th. Can't wait.
Deb
Andre & Ann will arrive Sat 13 Mar and depart early Sunday 21 Mar.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
According to the posts, this is list of those attending the Oyster Fest in Mobile next week. If you are not listed, COME ON!!! and add your name(if you know how:eek:). I don't know how to add to a list posted already:confused:.

Deb, Eric & Jay
Nancy & Tom
Carol & Bill
Bonnie & Don
Jerry & Rae
Sandy & Ed
Dan & Jo
Alek & Lucia + Their friends, George & Shirley
Roger & Micki
Dale & Paulette
Ted & Jan
Sandy,
The only person that can EDIT your post is you! If someone else says they are going to attend you have to EDIT your post that has the list of names by adding their name.:D
Wish we could make it; but we are prepping for my grandson's crawfish boil on March 27th. He is getting married in April. Louise has got me working my tail off! I thought the house was clean, but according to her it has to sparkle. I don't understand women.
Tuga is right, Sandy. Just go to the post that you added and look for the edit option at the bottom of the page. Only you can see the edit link so only you can edit the post.
Now, if I get through my treatment in Houston this week and can still drive the bus, Jan and I will be there. I know that Jerry and Rae Winchester are stopping Friday night on their way home from mouseville and I thought Jon and Di Wehrenberg were coming.
Thank you Tuga and Ted.
I am always thinking on the positive side and know that you, Ted & Jan, will be there in Mobile!!!:):):) I prayed for you and Jan tonight. God Bless.
The last I heard was that Jon & Di were not going to be able to make it to Mobile this time. We sure will miss them being there.
Sandy
Well darn, Jan and I will not be at the Mobile Oyster Fest next week. I had some funky lab work yesterday and am having to get shots for three days to increase my white and red blood cells. Instead of getting my Chemotherapy today and heading home tomorrow, we're stuck in Houston until at least Wednesday. Doc says no go as far as making the trip.
You all have great fun and we'll see you next time.
Ann and I will have to cancel our Oyster Fest trip. A problem has come up at work that has caused a big change in our plans. I need to be home next week and need to spend a day in Jacksonville for work issues.
I hope everyone has a good time and we will see you all another time.
Ted and Jan: Sorry to hear- - we will miss seeing yall at the Oysterfest. We needed you there to help hold JDUB in check. I heard from Mickey Mouse that he was spotted in the Magic Kingdom this morning with a wire brush in both hands.
Andre and Ann. Tell the folks at work that eating oysters is more important than work and come on. We are sorry to hear yall will miss out on the festitives. If that is what they are called.

We just found out we have had a big change of plans and will not be able to attend the Oyster Fest. WE are very disappointed and were looking forward to meeting you folks. Hope to make the next pog event.
Bill & Carol
We are on the road now heading to Mobile.
Left Coach Worx (St. Petersburg)at 6:45am today
and in Perry,FL at this moment on US 19/98.
Taking our time and looking at the "Poor Folks".
Just now turned on 98West and will go thru
Appalachicola where the (BEST) oysters are from!!:D
Sandy
I worked in a restaurant in Ft Walton Beach while in USAF as an Oyster Shucker (help with $$$ in 1966-70). Appalachicola does have GREAT oysters but we usually had East Bay's from Pensacola as they were as good but much less trouble to open. Apps' were clumped and difficult to open, but Oh So Good. Wanted to make Mobile but stuck with family things here in Colorado.
