Are there any plans, in the early stages, for another WCWMR this year. We had a great time at Havasu last winter and, as we make our 'winter get away' plans, we wanted to leave room on the schedule for POG.

Hi Larry. There a plenty of choices. Las Vegas was mentioned a while back.
Its a matter of choosing dates as well. How about the end of January or the first week in Feb. Anyone?;)
Near the end of February would work better for us.
We are in, anytime is good.
Location? We need more input. RV Park? The end of Feb sounds good to me.
I'm in, I think! Anyplace that's warm and dry.
There were a number of us at Ken and Janet's house when Brian and Beverly came through. We discussed the possibility of a mini rally in Vegas in the February timeframe. January, some are going to Quartzite, and in March Ken and Mike will be spending the month in Indio.
So, February seemed reasonable. A possibility on the place is the ex-ORA, which is now owned by the lot owners. I think we have a new POGGER out there, who can perhaps get us a good deal?
Assuming Feburary and Vegas works for everyone, what time would be good?
Ray
PS: Also, last year a number of us got together over the week between Christmas and New Years. It turns out Pixar/Disney has given us the whole week this year off, so I'm looking to do something local during that week.
Anyone else game? I was kind of thinking heading perhaps up the coast toward Santa Barbara or Paso Robles, but I'm open to suggestions if anyone else would like to join in.
Ray
Evy and I would love to attend a mini, late Feb works for us, wherever.
How's about Pismo Coast Village???
I'm with Kevin, warm and dry! How is the WX at Pismo Coast Village in Feb. Jon?
checking the NASCAR schedule, Feb 28th is Las Vegas. Good deals on RV spots might be harder to come by that weekend.
Pismo sounds good. Anyone got a dune buggy??
Put Janet and I down in pencil.
John, I don't think Pismo Coast can handle that many 45' coaches. I have a hard time just getting 2 at a time. I don't remember how many we had at Lake Havasu. but I don't think pismo will work. There is a nice park in Paso Robles if thats an option.
Just so we're all on the same page, I was asking if anyone was interested in Paso Robles and vacinity for the week between Christmas and New Years. I'm in for Vegas in February, and it seems that we should stay away from the weekend of the 28th.
Feb 14th weekend is Presidents Day holidays, but I'm doubting that's a big concern.
So, in Feb, which sounds good. Weekend of 6-7, 13-14 or 20-21?
Ray
So, who do we talk to about reserving 15 or more sites in LV for Feb. on Presidents weekend or there abouts.
Regarding Christmas week, Buelltin has a park. Paso is nice as well.
Buelltin is close to a lot of wineries.
We have a new POGGER out there. I'll try to contact him AND to contact the regular reservation department.
I'll try that tomorrow
Ray,
Christmas/New Years week...what about Chula Vista? Paso Robles is fine however the weather can turn South there at any moment after the 1st of November. I have to agree with Sid, Pismo Coast Village can get a bit tight plus they have become very proud of their park.
Chula Vista is fine. I was trying to go to somewhere I haven't been before. The three places which get lot's of local action are:
* Chula Vista
* Rancho California ORA
* Indio ORA
kind of in that order. I was hoping to try something new, but I hear you on the weather front.
So, I've done a couple of things.
1. I contacted Al Griefer at LV Motorcoach Resort (our new POGGER), and he was going to look into rates for us.
2. I called them (LV Motorcoach) directly and they indicated we can get a rally rate of 20% of posted rates + taxes. That equates to 39.20 for standard lot, $55.20 for premiere. There is also an "Amenities" lot which would run $71.20.
3. I called the Oasis RV Resort, and they have a more formal rally policy:
a. $35.00 per night
b. rally master slot is free
c. 10 coach minimum for this rate
d. rate good 2 days before and after rally days
e. They indicated we would all be put together.

Oasis: http://www.oasislasvegasrvresort.com
Anyone have a preference? Seems like the Oasis is a bit cheaper. I've been to the LV resort when it was ORA/Signature, and it's very nice, and Al lives there full-time (I think). Both places have availability for the weekend of the 13-14th.
Ray
Either one Ray. Whatever the group wants.

I have been to LVMR about 4 years ago, nice! It gets my vote.
LV Motorcoach would work for us.
We spent a week at LVMR this past month, and have visited there on two other occasions. It is a great place, and would be a super place to hold a large POG rally.
I took the liberty to ask if they could handle a rally with 60 plus coaches in October and they said they could. They have excellent meeting, kitchen, and bar facilities and said they would work with a group on the rates.
I would highly recommend this resort, and would suggest that POG hold a rally there.
I know there was a rally in Vegas a couple of years ago, but it is a great destination, with tons of things to do.
Louise and I are up for a Las Vegas rally. We love it out there. They owe me some money from the last trip.
If anyone is interested; I have a sure fire, guaranteed, fool proof gambling system. It works everytime. You can't lose!
All you have to do is bet opposite from the way I bet, then you are sure to win every time! Simple:D
Go to the old Outdoor Resorts, the best and they have really cut rates. Last time we were in for a week, $299.00.
See you there.
Janet and I are up for Las Vegas. The earliest we could leave is on the 28th. New Years Eve in Vegas could be fun.
Tuga, you take the pass line, I'll take the don't pass and we'll win every roll!!
Ken
Ken, if you leave on Jan 28th, you'll be there 6 weeks early. We're talking primarily about the weekend of Feb 12-14.
So, speaking of Vegas, I received email from Al today, and a call from LVMR. They are happy to have us, and have enough space that we can be together. Plus, pretty much everyone that responded indicated they preferred LVMR.
The only potential issue is that there is an activity in the clubhouse on Saturday evening (Feb 13th), which is I think a valentines dance. We would be OK to go to this, however, normally we've tried to have a big pot-luck on Saturday of our mini-retreat weekends.
Rates would be about $40 per night, a I believe they would put us in their standard lot area. They would allow you to stay a couple of extra days on either side of our target dates.
So, the question is, "is the weekend of Feb 12-14" the one to do? There are no conflicts with the clubhouse the weekend prior or the weekend after.
Let's make a decision, and "get 'er done".
ray
Ray, thanks for all you have done. I'm in.
Ray,
Count on us for the weekend of Feb. 14.
We just came back from a three day outing at LVMR. It's a great place and the 15 is very smooth once you get out of the basin.
Looking forward to it!
I'm in, maybe if I'm lucky with the whole family. There is a great roller coster at state line that I can bribe the girls with!
Ray: Thanks for doing the leg work. Looks like we could make L.V. in Feb. Keep us posted on the Christmas - NEW Year week outing, we'd like to make that also.
We're in for the weekend in Vegas in mid February. Let's join in the scheduled Valentine's dance at the clubhouse and then have our potluck on Friday evening. Also we are interested in joining Ray and whoever else is going north for Christmas week but can't commit definitely yet.
So are we decided on a date and place or is that still open? Anything is good for us, just wondering I read a few dates. And Las Vegas if the place?
Somebody mentioned Christmas and New Years in Las Vegas. We'll be there for a John Mayer concert. If you're there, get in touch and we'll keep you out of the casinos.
We may visit you west coasters over the winter.
The February trip is for Vegas. I'm thinking February 12-14, although I think I'll arrive on Thursday Feb 11th.
Do these dates work for everyone. If so, let's get a list, and I'll confirm with ORA. I spoke to them last Friday, and they are simply waiting a confirmation from us.
Jim, the between Christmas and New Years trip is sorta planned to be somewhat north along the CA coast. Gary has suggested Buelton, but anywhere between there and Montery works for me.
Ray
Good with the Clark's gives me a reason to stay 10 days at ODR then the race at LVMS.
OK, I've told the LVMR person that we will be having a mini-rally there the weekend of Feb 12-14. As it's currently standing, we are indicating an arrival on Feb 12th and departure on Feb 14th. HOWEVER, they will grant us the rally rate for a couple of days before or after the 12-14th dates. They are reserving 15 slots for us currently.
I have asked if we can have access to the room there on FRIDAY evening the 12th for a pot luck. I will have information tomorrow as to whether or not that is possible. There is a Valentines party on Saturday the 13th, and we are invited to attend if we'd like.
If you would like to attend, please do the following:
1. Let me know here. I am to have a final count by Jan 1st timeframe to them.
2. Call 866-897-9300, tell them you would like to make reservations and that you are with the Prevost Group. They should have both my name associated with it, and Al Griefer.
We can probably have more slots, but we would need to get reservations in quickly for that.
Ray
Ray,
Count Jean and I in. We will travel back and forth with you...same dates that you book will work for us....VEGAS BABY !!!!!
Has anyone seen the movie Hangover? Now that is a funny Vegas movie !!!
All the best,
