The Marathon Club is having their rally at LVMR in March 23-28. I knew that Marathan had a Las Vegas rally scheduled, however it wasn't until I did some searching today to find out it's at the same resort.
Gary, I hope you got it all straightened out. Jon, thanks for registering.
So, ANYONE ELSE going to join us in Vegas?
Ray
I recieved my confirmation today. Feb. 11th to the 15th. I'm looking forward to it.
Hi Ray, Kevin, et al,
I will be there for the first day.
Arriving on the 11th, Departing 13th.
Will have my two boys 6 and 8.
See you there.
Jim
Great Jim, we look forward to seeing you there!
ray
Hi Ray,
Don't forget us! We'll be there, too, just don't have a reservation since we have a lot there.
I'm working on some other bus owners to join and attend also.
I know it'll probably be a hardship on some, but be aware that our parties at the Resort like the Valentine's dance usually include an open bar.:)
Al
HI Al,
Yep, we're certainly not forgetting you. Concentrating on getting all reservations in for those of us off-site people! :D
We're definitely looking forward to seeing everyone.
Ray
Ray,
My wife and I have made reservations to join the rally in Vegas. We look forward to seeing and meeting all the attendees.
Excellent. We look forward to seeing you there.
Ray
Schedule changed,,, The Jeepsters are in :D
EXCELLENT! I had received an email from my contact at LVMR with the list of registered guests, and your name was on it. I was waiting to see if you were gonna spill the beans here, or surprise us in Las Vegas.
Looking forward to seeing you guys there!
ray
ps: We're gonna have to do lunch some weekend. Mike Simmons and I both have our coaches out at Eliminator now, so we're out there quite often on weekends.
DITTO! :D:D:D
All sounds like a good time, can't wait..
We have a short run up to Acton for an overnighter, so we will call this a shake down for the LV run!
Won't have a toad for this trip as the Jeep is in LHC, but I am sure we will manage...
I spoke to my friend Martin the owner of Lazy Day's RV Wash in Las Vegas, (702) 371-0512. He realizes the importance of adding POG members to his client list and has offered a discount to the members at the Winter Rally,
Wash price reduced from $100 for 40ft, or $125 for 45ft to a flat rate of $90.00. just mention POG or my name for the discount.
He does a nice job, no scratches, and gives the bus a "lite" detail. Other services I have used,
1. Roof buffed with a soft compounded and heavy marine wax once a year, worth the $160.00.
2. Full hand wash and wax with Meguires and nice detail, about $300.00
3. He will tell you he is good on wheels, I beg to differ.
4. Tow wash is extra, about $20.00
You can make an appt. ahead of time, I have him doing the bus on the 11th and again before Nascar.
Jeep: Great news you two will make it. The Hoppe's will cover you on car transportation. We'll be there from the 11th to the 15th.
In case there is a space problem for the Rally we have cancelled our reservation. We are unable to attend and we are sorry to miss seeing everyone and meeting new folks. This is the second event in a row that we have missed and we are hopeful that we will be able to make the next POG function. I will miss watching Sid spend Harry' money at the auction, like at Havasu.:p
Larry, I'm sorry you won't be able to attend, Hope all is well. I was looking forward to seeing you. You and Kevin are the only ones I know. We'll catch you at the next one or down the road somewhere.
Larry,
Really sorry to hear you wont be there. We look forward to seeing you at another one.
FYI, I stopped at the resort this Saturday while enroute to see the CES show. I did get copies of those who have reserved, and there are currently 20 reservations.
I will compare that to our list a bit later today (after work), and make sure everyone who indicated they are coming are indeed in the list. This doesn't include the 3-4 people who have lots in the resort and will join us.
Remember, Friday evening is the potluck. I am awaiting details about the Saturday evening Valentines party, for those who are interested in attending. Evidently from an email I received yesterday there are some changes happening. At this point I do not know if there is a cost, or if you must RSVP in advance. As I find out, I'll let everyone know.
Is anyone interested in forming a group and going to a show some evening or afternoon.
Does anyone want any specific "thing" to happen, like a discussion group?
I have a computer reader, and I can read codes for anyone who might like their DDEC codes read (assuming you have the newer round plug). I'd be happy to do this for anyone during this period. If you have a DDEC4 or perhaps newer DDEC3 I can download a report from the DDEC which provides a lot of info. Your DDEC has to have what they call "data pages" enabled for this feature to work. But, if it does, I can give you engine start times over last several months, run times, maximum speeds, mpg usage, panic stops etc. Very interesting info. At OKC, we learned that one bus had been driven at 95 mph by a previous owner!
Ray
Ray, is Dale coming to Las Vegas? Haven't seen or read any posts from him in a long time. Hope everything is ok with him. I know they are having a terrible winter.
Sid,
I assume you mean Dale Juranek? No, he and Jan are not scheduled to be here. I haven't heard from him in awhile, either. I hope they are doing OK.
Elliott, Just dealing with the problems of being the oldest Son.
Stick close to Kevin, but forget trying to keep up. Just ask to see his engine compartment and you will know what I am talking about.
Watch some of those other Guys attending however. Just kidding, you are in for a good time.
This is our first time responding on the Forum. We have a 97 Liberty (purchased from Steve Bennett) and we plan to attend the LV POG Rally. We look forward to meeting all of you. We have confirmed with the resort.
Welcome to POG, Dan & Bob! Jump in, post early and often (like how they vote in Chicago) and have fun! Having been lurking since August, I'm sure you've gotten a feel for the personalities of the inmates here, so just join in any discussions or threads that peaks your interest. And ask questions - lots of questions! The braintrust loves to answer them and sometimes the answers are even correct! :p
For starters, tell us a little about yourselves so we don't have to make it all up!
Welcome Dan and Bob, enjoy that Liberty. Was your bus in the two bus club by any chance?
.:)
Welcome D&B. Looks like a familiar Lib will be returning if you have the coach I think you have.
As you are now part of this asylum we call POG try to develop a thick skin. Especially from the folks who only wish they own a Liberty and who are constantly picking on those of us who own one.
If you have any questions ask them here and you will get an answer. Chances are if you ask enough questions sooner or later we will eventually even provide the correct answer.
Welcome to POG. It s great to have another Liberty back in the group. Congradulations and hope to see you in LV.
Thanks for your welcome and for all of your thoughts! We look forward to meeting all of you too. I beleive that I have gotten to know a couple of you through your posts. We have been RVing since 2006 and like a few folks, went through several choices and an expensive lesson before coming to Prevost. Our last coach was a CC Prevost and current a Liberty. We have never been happier. We have learned a great deal from this website and have already met several folks this past year. Talk with you all soon.
Welcome to the clan. We would have liked to come to LV, but have conflicting events. Hope to see you down the road.:)
HI Everyone,
I received a note from LVMCR regarding the Valentines party.
The party is on Saturday, Feb 13th, and we are invited. There is no cost to us. They will serve hors d'oevres and dinner. There will be an open bar, and most likely a band as well.
The would like to get a count from us as to how many might possibly attend, so they can plan our number into the food budget.
If you are thinking about attending, please let me know ASAP.
Secondly, there is a diner across the entrance street from the registration office. When I was their last Saturday it was open. I thought it might be fun to organize a breakfast one morning.
Anyone interested in doing a breakfast. Since many are coming Friday, I would suggest either Saturday or Sunday. I haven't yet talked to anyone at the diner, but will if there is interest.
Ray
Howdy Ray, count Evy and I in on the Valentines party and the breakfast as well. I don't know if there was any interest in attending a show but we would do that as well if anyone is going to one. Thanks Elliott
We are in.
We are in and would also be interested in a show.
Hi Ray. We will attend. I would think most everyone is planning on it.
Count us in Ray and thanks for doing the legwork.
Ray,
Ditto, on the thank you for all your time doing the leg work on this rally. We are also in on the Valentines Party.
Right outside the gate at LVMCR is a diner, called "DonKats Red and White Diner". Their website is http://donkatsdiner.com/
I spoke with one of the owners, Kathy, today and asked if they might be able to handle a group for breakfast one of the mornings during our stay.
They, of course, would love to have us. We can either, just come by whenever we'd like, or if we wanted to setup a time and possibly a fixed menu, they would give us a discount.
For example, normally a breakfast of 2 eggs, bacon, toast and coffee would be $8.00. They agreed to give us that for $5.00 if we commit in advance.
They suggested that they could also print up some 10% off coupons for us, for those that might want to eat there other times.
Menu looks great, and they include catering, should we maybe need something like that?
Anyway, I'd like to get a response and see how many might like to meet for breakfast, perhaps Saturday or Sunday morning? Saturday might be easier, as most people seem to be going to the Valentines party that night, and Sunday might be a little harder to get up!
Let me know.
Ray
Ray, I am in for the breakfast Saterday or Sunday. Rhonda has her own special routine each morning (she's kind of a health nut) so it would just be me. Also what should we plan on bringing for the pot luck?
Steve
Great Steve. There will be a couple of us for sure! :D
As for the potluck, I'll start another thread (so it doesn't get lost), and let people sign up for what they would like to bring. I hate to manually chose A-L for desert, etc.
