Like Bill says - Come join us! Call Bella Terra at (866) 417-2416, tell Julie or Courtney that you're with the POG Oysterfest rally and they'll hook you up! Once you've made your reservation with Bella Terra, post here with your RSVP's for the three events we have planned so far - Friday on-site oyster shucking extravaganza, Friday Oysterita Happy Hour, & Saturday Original Oyster House luncheon (tell me how many will attend and how many dozen oysters you want for Friday) and I'll add you to the running lists.
A week from today, we'll be eating oysters, drinking oysteritas, telling bus stories and other lies, and looking out over at least 29 beautiful buses with great friends - old & new!
Micheal, thanks for the reply. I'll contact BT as soon as possible and will let you know what our plans are for the events by Monday. Looking forward to it.
Bill,
I'm skipping Perry for a few days at home with the Divine Ms. M. Couple of different ways to Gulf Shores but my favorite is to drop down to the Ga.- Fl. Parkway through Albany, to Thomasville, to Tallahassee and then west on 10. May not be the shortest but good road. Alternative is west through Fort Valley on Ga. 96 around Columbus, west on US 80 to I-85, then on to Montgomery and south on I-65. Personally, I would rather drive through South Georgia and hit the big meat market just north of Lake Blackshear, on your left going south. Can't miss it!
Let the Oyster Eating Begin. Made it to Fairhope this afternoon and then on to Wintzell's this evening. Five dozen later and we're back to the bus.

I thought I posted this earlier, but apparently I messed up somehow! (Surprise, surprise!) Anyway, I was notified today by Julie at Bella Terra that Dale and Paulette Farley have had to cancel their reservation for Oysterfest 2011. Julie couldn't say for sure, but was under the impression that the reason was illness of an immediate family member. Whatever the reason, the Farley's will be missed! I hope thart Dale or Paulette will see this and let us know what's going on and how we can help! Regardless, our collective thoughts and prayers will be with Dale & Paukette next week! If circumstances change/improve to allow them to attend after all - that would be fabulous!

I just spoke with Julie at Bella Terra and she told me that she's sold out and put me on a waiting list. She said she would try to work something out tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
Yes it is spring break and we only have our youngest daughter with us. We hit Doc's for oysters at noon and back to Wintzell's tonight. I'll need more sunscreen at this rate.
Jdub: Is it spring time in Lower Alabama? How about a weather report/forecast?
Do I wear short shorts? or long jons?
