Jim and Carol Trout are planning to head east from Houston on March 16 to grab some oysters and fun at Bella Terra March 17-20. See everyoe there!
We would like to come too... we'll check our calendar in the morning (we are currently on the road) and see if we can work it out. Sounds like a nice change from all our hard freezes !!! I should call Bella Terra myself correct ? Thanks..
YES, just give them a call. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!
Sandy
Larry & Diane, glad to hear you are coming to Oysterfest! Looks like a fair turn out by the Texas folks, (counting the honorary Texan Tuga) from Homa La.
Assuming Larry & Diane Byrd make the Oysterfest scene, that puts the attendance at 17 coaches so far as of Monday, 2/14!

LOL... yes we are really looking forward to it and seeing everyone again... plus a few new faces !!
Whine, whine, why do the POG events always seem to land on a week or weekend that we have plans for? Son and grandson will be visiting the entire week or Bob and I would be there. Of course Jon still can't make me eat an oyster since he hasn't won our bet yet! We will miss partying with you all....maybe next time.....
Debi and Bob
I would Michael if they didn't have to return to work and school respectively!
Debi
Debie and Bob, there is always Monday after the weekend of oysters over at Bay St. Louis at Holloywood Casino Park where Dan & Jo live. I'm sure we can pull a few arms to go over there a couple of days. Bonnie, Micki & Roger, Nancy..............?
Sandy
Just made our reservations !!! Exciting !! We will be there for sure !! I had to "search" for Oysterfest as it no longer shows up in the Forums "What's New" page. If it hadn't been in the what's new page we would not have known about this.. so I am guessing any one else like us who just checks periodically won't know anything about it ?? Shame it can't stay there a little longer for people to see?
Larry - the thread should come up for anyone who clicks on the "New Posts" link at the top of the page if there have been any new posts since the last time they viewed the thread. If after clicking "New Posts" the thread doesn't appear - that means either 1.) there have been no more replies to the thread since the last time the member viewed it, or 2.) the "cookies" aren't working on their computer. If I had to rely on the search function here to find anything, I'd be s*#t out of luck! To describe it as "hit or miss" is beng generous! Glad you were able to confirm Oysterfest attendance! See you there!
Betty and I will be in Thursday afternoon / evening and would be glad to host an "Oysterita" happy hour for everyone at some point if someone could assist us with the logistics and how the Oyster Fest event works. We will be at Bella Vista. Is there a basic program or get together that has been suggested or planned?
Pres
Larry,
If you want to attend a rally or get together, go to this category: http://forum.prevostownersgroup.com/...-Get-Togethers
Or, click on the Calendar at the top of the page and you can see what is scheduled.
Reagan: Your's and Betty's offer is very generous and I am sure will be welcomed by all in attendance. I would be surprised if you get less than 100 percent participation. Oysterfest is somewhat spontaneous so "Oysterita" will fit in anywhere you would like.
As to your question about the program - there ain't one. It's just eating, relaxing, and lying. That's about it. We generally have sit down and shoot the breeze discussions, then eat, then relax.
The first "OysterFest" started as a stopover on the first Kerrville POG Rally for getting a few days of rest and allowing Jon and Micki to get their fill of Oysters and to meet up with Deb and Bob 00. I don't think you can fill Jon up but unfortunately Jon has prior family committments - so we will have to eat his share. We had such a good time, we have tried to have one or two a year since.
The POG Traveling Band sometimes entertains us and sometimes they don't. Then we eat and relax again.
Sometimes folks go sight seeing, read a book, or shopping then eat again. Then relax.
Sometimes we work on someones' bus if it's broken.
Its a tough(not) way to spend the weekend, but I/we have managed to pull it off several times. And lived to do it again.
Sometimes we get full up on oysters and will burn a steak at the last evening meal we are there. But sometimes we've eaten oysters then too.
This is my first visit to Bella Terra. It sounds nice and the pictures look good. Julie has offered to put together a wine and cheese thingy one evening, I told her that would be nice- but would wait and see what the turnout was and then decide about that. She also offered the use of a meeting room if needed. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough for all of us to enjoy the outdoors.
If you or someone feels we should have a potluck meal one evening - eating is a good thing- put the suggestion out there and see how many bites we get.
So come on down with expectations of doing nothing but enjoying yourself with us and the rest of the POG folks in attendance.
Hello Oysterfeasters !
We like to attend as usual, but as some of you already know Lucia had bilateral full knee replacement few weeks ago, and she is not ready to travel so far yet do to therapy and doctors appointments.
Have fun, we will see you somewhere during the year.
BTW: She is doing great, better that expected,
Alek
Thanks.. for that link.. I've never run across that one.. I'll watch it too from now on.
Lets hear it for Lucia....from what Alek is reporting she is doing great and, myself being a both knee replacement person, it takes a LOT of recovery work to make sure that what you go through works out in the long "run". Lucia, my best on your recovery and therapy, you go girl, and yes, we will see you sometime this year. Bus project is getting close to fruition, adding new windshields also...
Whenever the Oysterita's happen, some of Pete's home made salsa and chips will probably show up. So as this thing comes around, let us know the time and date, so we can start planning.
I agree with Roger, lets not get too organized and ruin the fun!
Reagan - even though Roger is the organizer/Master of Ceremonies for Oysterfest 2011, he appears to be a benevolent/non-autocratic leader! Why don't you just pick a day/time for Oysteritas, chips & salsa and tell us when to show up at the trough! :D As it gets closer to Oysterfest time, Julie at Bella Terra should be able to tell us the RV lot assignments (where each of us will be parked) and I'll try to post a list here, so that everyone knows where to find each other!
I just got a call from Courtney at Bella Terra to ask if there was anything they can do to help coordinate/arrange activities for Oysterfest and if there is anything we need to help insure its success! She floated an idea that she is checking into on her own on our behalf. Apparently Wintzels Oyster House http://www.wintzellsoysterhouse.com/ will cater a menu of our choosing right at the resort for a "per head" fixed cost. Courtney is checking into the available options for us to consider (if we even want to). She also said that they would help arrange any reservations, tickets, and group transportation to any retaurants, clubs, or area attractions/events we were interested in. She told me that the staff at Bella Terra is extremely excited about hosting Oysterfest 2011 and are ready to bend over backwards to insure that we have anything we need to gaurantee a good time is had by all in attendance! This is just one of the many reasons that Vita and I love Bella Terra!
"Ya'll come!" :D
Amen to that.. I too have have both of my knees replaced.. and it's not fun but sure worth it... therapy is the key... never ending therapy it seems !!
Good luck Lucia... hope you do as well as I did.... Diane
Dale - Courtney at Bella Terra says you haven't locked in your reservation yet as of today! It would be a tragic shame for a "local" to miss this event, so just bite the bullet, make the commitment, and call Bella Terra for your spot today! Don't make us come looking for you! :p

Hi Roger: I'm the new kid on the block, we are going to spring break with our grandkids, going to Destin and have been looking for something to do after we leave there. COUNT ME IN!! We will be leaving Destin on the 18th am, and should arrive early pm at Fairhope. Our names are Jon and Barb Neubaum, they call me JON T, our contact information is: e-mail jtban@yahoo.com, cell 832-368-5230. Looking forward to meeting you and the group.
JT,
You realize we couldn't all get in at Farihope so we will be near Foley at Bella Terra? And you'll need to call BT and make a reservation. Their number is further up the list somewhere.
And, welcome to the group. We can't be far apart since I keep my coach at the Hooks Airport.
JDUB
Jon T & Barb:
Welcome to POG and glad to hear that you will be hanging out with us at Bella Terra. We certainly look forward to meeting with yall. We are gonna have a bunch of Texans there so you should feel right at home.
Be sure and contact Bella Terra Direct as they will siphon off your credit card number to seal the deal!
I will be needing to use it to get fuel as well - just kidding
Michael Terry is keeping up a list of attendees - so I am sure he will add your names to the list.
And again Welcome to POG.
Welcome Jon & Barb! I'm glad you'll be joining us at Bella Terra for Oysterfest 2011! Be sure to call Julie or Courtney at Bella Terra at (866) 475-7746, tell them you are with the POG Oysterfest group, and make your reservation!

Deb, Eric and Jay made reservations today! Can't wait to see everyone there. Those are the last 3 days of Jay's spring break and we were waiting on him to vote "yes" to oysterfest before we signed up. We will arrive Thursday 17 and depart very early 20th, as we have to have Jay back at school that afternoon. Hope we can figure out our intermittent alternator issue before trip day!
Now that the Faires have signed up for Oysterfest, we have 20 coaches scheduled to attend, and are guaranteed a great musical treat, too!
