Factory Recall!
Anyone else get a certified letter from Prevost yesterday?
Affects 03, 04, & I think 05 XL's. Seems they have a problem with the front suspension, bell cranks and idler arm have to be replaced. Says parts were not properly heat treated and can fail under heavy loading causing loss of steering control. You have to buy the parts, have them put on, send back the old ones, and wait for a refund. They're allowing 4 hours labor for the job and I've already had one shop tell me they won't touch it for that. I got under mine and it looks like quite a job. Nothing was said about aligning the front end afterwards either. You would think it would have to be...

That's double jeopardy
All of you guys will have to remove all of the bling you put on those parts prior to the SF rally.. Too Bad.

Unless Volvo is working overtime to destroy Prevost it is my guess that the problem will be taken care of and there will be no cost and only minimal inconvenience to the customer.
It may require a little jawboning but in the past Prevost has dealt with their errors in the right way
