Some governors are remote mounted, but mine is directly bolted to the compressor. The governors are cheap, this rebuilt unit was 16.00. I got mine at Fleet, but most truckstops and parts places have them. There are different types and pressures, just make sure your part number is the same. I changed it as a PM item while chasing an aux air leak. This took about a half hour, mostly because you have to R & R your fittings as the governor does not come with fittings, only plugs that need installed in the unused ports.
