I am curious if anyone out there has an SMI unit on their coach and a M&G unit on their toad. The guys at M&G tell me it should work fine, but I am curious if there is any practical experience out there. Let me hear from you.

Tony,
Both systems simply supply metered brake system air to the tow vehicle. It's just that Air Force one does so with Prevost aux air being extended to the towed while M&G supplies actual brake system air. Both are done at the same proportional rate determined by the pressure on the brake pedal. I can only guess SMI received a patent on their implementation otherwise their simple method of using auxiliary would certainly be done by M&G. The SMI implementation is safer.

We have an older Air Force One unit. We initially put it on a diesel Jetta behind a Winnebago Ultimate Freedom then moved the system to a 2003 wrangler and our 1998 Country Coach. We have never had any problems.
