We spent the weekend at a wedding in Pt. Roberts, WA, that little accident of history that sticks down from BC into WA. The only RV park there that said they could accommodate our 40 footer, couldn’t. The only space they had that was long enough was under low hanging tree branches on very uneven ground with randomly scattered concrete chunks sticking out of the ground. We choose to dry camp in the open out front in the tent area.

We are now headed east across Canada to FMCA in Minot, ND, and have yet to see an RV Park that could handle anything larger than our 40’ non-slide. So, my curiosity question is since the vast majority of Prevost coaches are 45’ long, where do you park while traveling across country in Canada or the US? Do you find it difficult to find a spot each night or are we just looking in the wrong places?

Thanks Les. We signed up but found almost no listings in BC or Alberta. I called them and they refunded our money saying they just had not traveled in that area so no listings. We are doing fine in our 40 footer, just curious what those of you in 45 footers do. Last night we stayed at an Elks club in Salmon Arm, BC. Had one spot where we could fit but nothing longer.

Big Rigs is a good resource.

We also use Google Maps and RV Parky to narrow our search. We then use Google Maps or Google Earth to get a better view of the park. We also use the park's photos and those taken and posted by those that have reviewed the park. It's rare that we're ever disappointed.

Another consideration is government parks. Some of these are quite nice but don't always come up in typical Google searches.
