The cord reel on my 1998 Liberty for the 50AMP cord on the driver (port) side stopped working today. Any ideas on what or where to check? It was letting cable out and someone started talking to me so it reached the max and now it will not engage to retract the cable. I have let it max out before and never had an issue (not something I normally do, but it has happened in the past).

The white collar around the cord is suppose to enter a ring with a micro switch that should turn off the power when it reaches both in and out stops.

I'm not sure where the breaker is or if they used a self resetting breaker. If it didn't reset a call to Liberty should quickly get you an answer.

Gil,

I called Liberty and they told me to check fuse 39. It was blown. I always forget just to call them first as they are very helpful. I just wish I could get a fuse diagram to understand what each one goes to.

This isn't for your specific Liberty but I know almost all of it is going to line up with yours. I've also got the AC stuff if you want I'll just take pictures and send everything I got. Enjoy. I took a quick look through and for example number 39 on what I'm sending you is the shore power cord so I think most of it is applicable.

I've never understood why basic coach information isn't supplied for the asking. Answering service calls and customer frustration cost a lot more than a few pages of basic information.

I'm glad it was simple. The out collar on the cord may need adjustment.

I was thinking the same thing Gill something blew that fuse the limit needs to be set or something. It might blow again.

Joe,

Thanks for the information. I don't understand why Liberty doesn't provide it.

James,

My Featherlight 98 has 1 inch thick book with all the wiring diagrams. It has been extremely helpful to isolate issues. Seems like Liberty does not provide this. I wonder if the other converters provide these. Owners of Marathons, Country Coaches, etc please chime in.

Thanks
