Trace 4024 inverter

My prevost has a trace inverter model 4024. I have a console with choices and not sure what settings to use and when. Off on search and charge. Read the manual and have some knowledge but just wanted to know how you guys are using your inverter. Thanks in advance.

Off, yep no inverter or charger function.
On, where it should be unless in storage.
Search, a somewhat worthless energy saving mode when you're on inverter (battery) power.
Charge, only use while in storage. Only the charger works.
