Folks,
These modular Eltek Flatpack Rectifiers, see attached paper, are an interesting solution for those who wish to move to 48v Li-ion batteries and are in need of chargers. Eltek makes a wide variety of devices from rectifiers to charge controllers (to manage battery charging) to canbus and web browser control. They make something called the rectiverter which wraps it all into one modular platform. Here's a 3000W Flatpack Rectifier on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-10-NEW-Eltek-Valere-Flatpack2-48-3000-HE-G2-Rectifier-3000W-48V-PSU-NIB-/252874701408?hash=item3ae081ba60:g:tWgAAOSwuLZY6S-9) for $2000.00. They can be paralleled for redundancy and additional amperage.
